79. Garden Embroideries

It is great seeing kitchen gardens represented in different creative mediums, in this case it is embroidery. The orderliness of kitchen gardens lends themselves well to this sort of art, and the rows of plants with their different colours make for interesting textures. Stained glass is another medium that works really well for this.

I came across this embroidery on Twitter, made by Emma Malkin and based on the original, award winning garden / allotment embroidery designs by Collette Kinley. Collette’s Etsy shop has a wide range of garden themed designs - a great way to learn new embroidery stitches. I just love them !
